Since the Pandemic, we have recorded the Annual Blessing of The Graves in the three cemeteries in our Parish – Mullary, Ballymakenny and Monasterboice. Thanks to Joe Finnegan for his work in recording and editing the Mass.
Its a special time of gathering for the families of our parish, and many come home for the blessings. Fr. Paddy, with the support of the Parish Pastoral Council, has continued to record and publish the blessings Mass, so that those who can’t come home, can participate – in spirit.
While we remember all who have died, we think especially of those who may be experiencing the Blessing of The Graves for the first time, as their loved one passed away in the last twelve months. May the Lord continue to console you, and all who mourn.
And for all our departed, we pray. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them, may they rest in peace, and may their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen.
