Monasterboice Parish is located just a few kilometres north of Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland.
It is most famous for its connection to the ancient monastic site (Mainistir Bhuithe) founded by Saint Buithe in the 5th Century.
Today, the parish is made up of around 500 Catholic families worshipping in two Churches; The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tenure (1894); and The Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Fieldstown (1868).
Two Catholic schools; NS Naomh Buite, Tenure and NS Naomh Padraig, Harestown, are within the parish boundaries, and serve the educational needs of over 400 children from the area.
The Parish is within the Archdiocese of Armagh, and part of the St. Columcille’s Pastoral Area;
The Very Rev. Patrick Rushe is the Parish Priest, appointed from 1st September 2019.
And in conjunction with the members of the Parish Pastoral Council, the pastoral needs of the parish are served by three weekend Masses;
Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tenure – Saturday Vigil 6.30pm
Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Fieldstown – Sunday Morning 9.45am
Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tenure – Sunday Morning 11.15am
Baptisms are celebrated every weekend (upon request & with at least 2 weeks notice) either before the Vigil Mass in Tenure, or after the last Sunday Mass, and in either Church.
During the week, Masses are;

Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Fieldstown – Wednesdays 9.30am
Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tenure – Fridays 8pm
Devotions (incl. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament) are held in the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Fieldstown, on the 1st Sunday of the month, at 7pm
Confessions are available after any Mass, and at any time upon request.
