Monasterboice Parish

For some time now, we have been reflecting on, praying about and discussing changes in the Mass schedules of the Parish to accommodate and collaborate with the other parishes in the wider Pastoral Area (Parishes of Clogherhead, Termonfechin, and Togher)

We all know that the pattern of attendance at Mass is changing, and the numbers of priests available to celebrate these Masses is falling. We need to reflect this in the Mass Schedule for the Pastoral Area. In consultation with the Parish Pastoral Council, from the weekend of June15th/16th 2024, the Mass Schedule will be as follows:

Saturday evening Vigil Mass – there will be NO vigil Mass in The Immaculate Conception, Tenure.

Sunday morning Mass – 9.45am Our Lady of The Nativity, Fieldstown; 11.30am Immaculate Conception, Tenure

Masses for weekdays as follows;
Immaculate Conception, Tenure  Tuesdays @9.30am
The Nativity of Our Lady, Fieldstown Wednesdays @9.30am 
Immaculate Conception, Tenure Fridays @7pm 
A period of Eucharistic Adoration follows each weekday Mass.

Funerals, Weddings, and Baptisms can all be arranged for any of the churches in the parish, by arrangement and on request. The priests of the parishes will be celebrating these Sacraments on a rota basis.

This is an interim schedule, and will be reviewed mid-September. In the meantime, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we grow in our awareness of being a parish in St. Colmcille’s Pastoral Area. Masses in Clogherhead:
Saturday – No Vigil Mass
Sunday – 10.45am Sts Peter & Paul, Walshestown; 12noon, St. Michael’s, Clogherhead

Masses in Termonfechin:
Saturday Vigil Mass – 7.30pm Immaculate Conception, Termonfechin
Sunday – 9.15am Church of The Assumption, Sandpit

Masses in Togher:
Saturday evening Vigil Mass – 6.15pm  St. Borchill’s Church, Dysart
Sunday Mass – 10am in St. Colmcille’s, Togher; 11.30am St. Finian’s Church, Dillonstown.
